Oh boy they have grown! The puppies are now seven weeks of age and ready to move into their new homes in just one week. We are delighted that we have found wonderful homes for four of them. Still available a playful and well built male. Please contact us if you are interested in adopting.
Today we had a litter of three yellow males and three yellow females from Birta and Bassi. First puppy arrived at 12:20 and the last one at 4.34 pm. One female did not make it. Puppies weighed 430 to 510 grams at birth and are doing well. Birta is also doing well.
We paired our Blissful Birta with Buckholt Cecil in January and expect an all-yellow litter around March 15.
Buckholt Cecil is Iceland's top performing in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and has been elected Best in Show for an international all-breed show! A calm and collected dog with excellent temperament. Already a national champion and soon to be announced international champion.
Birta is a very prominent show dog that has earned three champion quality awards at dog show, two honour prizes and has been in 1st or 2nd place in her class in six dog shows. Hard working dog with a lovely temperament!
Both parents have clear eyes, A/A hips and elbows and are PRA free. Birta is furthermore non-carrier of EIC and CNM.
St. Hunderups Sunny Salka had a great day at the international dog show today. She landed the first place in intermediate class and was selected fourth best bitch of breed with championship quality. Fantastic results for this outstanding bitch from our first litter (Chuna x Ljóssins Korri). Congratulations to her owner Þórdís and her family in Akranes.
Today the proud owners of St. Hunderups puppies and juniors met in Fossvogur for a walk. From our 2012 litter, 4 out of 6 puppies attended and were welcomed by both parents, Chuna and Leiru Röskur. From our previous litter three juniors attended and had a splendid time.
Three puppies and two juniors from our kennel participated in the International Dog Show today.
In 4-6 month puppy class Ares (St. Hunderups Gibson) came in second and Orka (St. Hunderups Sahara came in 3rd. Both were awarded honor prize.
Sunna (St. Hunderups Sunny Salka) came in first place in Junior Class and Birta (St. Hunderups Blissful Birta) came in second place. Both were awarded Championship Quality (CK). This is the third consecutive show where our dogs take first place in Junior Class.
Our last puppy Great Sandy has found a fantastic future home. Vivid and social she is a fast learner and bound to bring joy to her new family!
Blissful Birta came in first in Junior Class with Excellent and Championship Quality (CK). Judge Liliane de Ridder-Onghena from Belgium said: Scissor bite, very nice head. good earset. nice dark eyes, good pigment, nice reach of neck. Good front & lay of shoulder. Nice cat feet. Good topline, well placed hindquarters. Give her time to develop further and she will be a very nice bitch!
Her siblings also had a good show day as usually;
Cheerful Caesar 3rd placing in Junior Class
Sunny Salka 4th placing in Intermediate Class
The puppies have 6 weeks behind them today and went outside for the first time to play and welcome spring. Four of the puppies will be moving into their new homes in just two weeks time while the last two are yet to find their future masters.
The puppies have grown out of the whelping box and started dominating whole the garage. They are now fed kibbles to supplement the less frequent breastfeeding. We have one black bitch and one male in each colour available.
